Volunteer for us!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the United Khoi-San and Traditional Council. Our organization is dedicated to creating a sustainable and equitable future for our community, and we rely on the support of volunteers to help us achieve our mission.
We have a range of volunteer opportunities available, including:
Waste Management Volunteers: Help us collect food waste and organic material from local households and businesses to turn into compost. This role involves sorting waste, composting, and maintaining composting equipment.
Farming Volunteers: Assist local farmers in planting and harvesting crops. This role involves working in the fields, maintaining crop health, and preparing produce for sale.
Community Outreach Volunteers: Assist with community outreach efforts, including distributing information about our programs and initiatives, and organizing events to promote sustainability.
Administrative Volunteers: Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, record keeping, and phone support.
We provide training for all volunteer positions, and no previous experience is necessary. All we ask is that volunteers are passionate about promoting sustainability and creating a more equitable future for all members of our community.

What we do
At United Khoi-San and Traditional Council, our focus is on creating sustainable food security through our Re-Cycling Waste Management Program. We work to reduce waste and promote sustainable agriculture practices, with the aim of ensuring that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food.
Through our program, we collect food waste and organic material from local households and businesses, and convert it into compost. This compost is then used to fertilize crops grown by local farmers, helping to improve soil health and boost crop yields.
In addition to our waste management efforts, we also provide support and resources to local farmers, including access to training, tools, and equipment. We believe that by empowering farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices, we can create a more resilient and sustainable food system for our community.
Our Mission
Our mission at the United Khoi-San and Traditional Council is to create a more just and equitable society by promoting social, economic, and environmental sustainability. We believe that everyone has the right to access nutritious food and live in a community that values and supports their well-being.
To achieve this mission, we focus on two main areas of work: creating sustainable food security through our Re-Cycling Waste Management Program and empowering and restoring dignity to members of our community.
Through our Re-Cycling Waste Management Program, we work to reduce waste and promote sustainable agriculture practices, with the goal of ensuring that everyone in our community has access to nutritious food. We also provide support and resources to local farmers, including training and equipment, to help them grow and sell their crops.
